There’s a common myth that Africa is overpopulated. Julius Nyerere rejected it: he argued that the real problem is not too many people, but unfair global systems that deny Africans control over their land and resources. Colonial‑era borders, extractive trade deals, and debt traps – not population – create scarcity. Together with Madaraka Nyerere, we examine how his father’s insight dismantles the narrative used to justify external interference in Africa.
